Lead Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Provide qualified engineering support as an integrated member of the project team and support Project Engineers in day-to-day project activities.
• Perform independent engineering due diligence and technical validation of engineering packages, calculations, design solutions, surveys, schedules, and other project documentation prepared by third parties.
• Review and validate electrical load calculations, single-line diagrams, equipment sizing, grounding systems, lightning protection systems, cable sizing calculations, and power distribution designs.
• Review and validate lighting calculations, emergency lighting systems, outdoor lighting systems, and energy efficiency solutions.
• Verify compliance of electrical designs with applicable RoK regulations, codes, standards, and utility requirements, including PUE RK, SP RK, SN RK, GOST, and local authority requirements.
• Support the resolution of technical queries, design changes, field engineering issues, and engineering clarifications throughout project execution.
• Independently organize, coordinate, and conduct technical and engineering progress meetings with third parties on a daily and weekly basis for assigned projects.
• Prepare engineering due diligence reports and regular progress reports for the project team.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical Power Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for public and commercial buildings.
• Previous experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer, Senior Electrical Engineer, or in a similar senior-level position.
• Excellent knowledge of the Republic of Kazakhstan electrical design regulations and standards, including:
  • PUE RK (Rules for Electrical Installations);
  • SP RK and SN RK requirements for buildings and infrastructure;
  • Applicable GOST and IEC standards.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in:
  • Low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems;
  • Electrical load calculations;
  • Cable sizing and voltage drop calculations;
  • Grounding and bonding systems;
  • Lightning protection systems;
  • Interior and exterior lighting design;
  • Emergency and backup power systems;
  • Fire alarm systems and electrical interfaces.

• Software Skills

• AutoCAD;
• DIALux or equivalent lighting calculation software;
• Electrical calculation software such as ETAP, Ecodial, Caneco BT, or equivalent;
• Microsoft Office Suite.
