Senior Consultant – Payroll, Individual Tax & Immigration Services
Position Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in payroll administration, individual tax compliance, and immigration support services.
- Proven experience managing payroll processes for multiple clients/entities in an outsourcing environment.
- Experience in preparing and filing individual income tax returns and personal declarations.
- Experience supporting expatriates and foreign employees with visa applications, work permits, residence permits, and other immigration-related documentation.
- Good understanding of the Tax Code and immigration legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Practical experience with 1C ZUP. Experience with other payroll/accounting softwares is a benefit.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word, Copilot.
- English language proficiency at Intermediate level or above.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work with confidential information and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day delivery of payroll and global mobility engagements for a portfolio of local and multinational clients, owning quality, accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Prepare and review deliverables across payroll and personal tax compliance, including payroll calculations, journal entries and reconciliations, payment registers and personal income tax returns.
- Review supporting documentation provided by clients and follow up on missing or inconsistent data.
- Monitor changes in Kazakhstan legislation, ensure their timely implementation into day-to-day work processes, and keep the team and clients informed of updates.
- Coordinate global mobility support, including deadline monitoring, renewals and liaison with the relevant authorities.
- Prepare and review periodic statutory, tax and statistical reporting, and support tax audits, internal and external audits and communication with the tax and other government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with EY quality, risk, confidentiality and data protection standards across all deliverables.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support standardisation and automation initiatives.
- Coach and review the work of Staff and Assistants, providing on-the-job training and timely feedback.
- Act as a day-to-day client contact and monitor engagement economics, escalating issues to the Manager on a timely basis.
