Technical Safety / Process Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Technical Safety / Process Safety Engineer (or Designer) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risk across industrial facilities, ensuring all design deliverables comply with international safety standards, local regulatory codes, and company HSE guidelines.

Responsibilities:

For Engineers (Safety Analysis & Design Compliance)

• Perform risk assessment studies including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) Allocation, and QRA (Quantitative Risk Assessment).

• Conduct relief load calculations, flare system design, overpressure protection analysis, and blowout/blowdown studies.

• Prepare safety design philosophies, including Fire & Gas Design Philosophies, ESD (Emergency Shutdown) Philosophies, and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) schedules.

• Review P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), and cause-and-effect matrices for process safety integrity.

• Ensure full compliance with international safety codes (NFPA, API, ISO, IEC, IP, etc.) and regional regulatory standards.

• Develop 2D and 3D layouts for Fire & Gas Detection Systems, Firewater Systems, and Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) drawings.

• Model safety equipment location plans, escape/evacuation routes, and safety signages using 3D design software (e.g., Smart3D, Aveva E3D, AutoCAD, PDMS).

• Extract equipment lists, material take-offs (MTO), and detailed installation drawings for construction execution.

• Perform clash detection between process safety equipment, piping, and structural components.

Job Requirements:

- Must have substantial experience, typically 3+ years, with Oil & Gas projects with significant experience working as a Technical Safety / Process Engineer.

- Shall have, as a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Safety Engineering or equivalent engineering specialisation.

- Must have excellent English technical communication (verbal and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client, technical authorities and verification bodies.
