1. Job Purpose

The Accounting Specialist (Asset) is responsible for managing fixed asset accounting activities, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, asset tracking, and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

2. Key Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Accounting

• Record and maintain fixed asset transactions including acquisition, transfer, depreciation, and disposal.
• Ensure proper capitalization and depreciation in accordance with accounting policies.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and supporting documentation.
• Monitor asset movements and update records accordingly.

Reconciliation & Closing

• Reconcile fixed asset registers with the general ledger and physical asset records.
• Support month-end and year-end closing related to asset accounts.
• Prepare asset schedules and reports for management and audit purposes.

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with internal asset management procedures and accounting standards.
• Support periodic physical asset verification and variance analysis.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Procurement, IT, Facilities, and Operations regarding asset-related activities.
• Support budgeting and asset tracking initiatives.

3. Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or general accounting.
• Understanding of depreciation methods and asset accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and accountability.
