Air Freight Department Specialist

We are looking for an Air Freight Department Specialist to manage end-to-end air freight operations, including quotations, shipment coordination, documentation, customer communication, carrier management, invoicing, and resolution of operational issues to ensure seamless delivery of international shipments.

Areas of responsibility

• Prepare and provide air freight quotations for international import and export shipments.
• Receive, process, and manage customer orders in accordance with company procedures and service standards.
• Arrange international air and multimodal transportation, including route planning and carrier/subcontractor selection.
• Coordinate shipment activities with customers, airlines, agents, carriers, customs authorities, and other stakeholders throughout the transportation process.
• Monitor and oversee shipments at all stages, ensuring timely pickup, transit, delivery, and compliance with agreed timelines.
• Track shipment status and provide customers with timely updates and progress reports.
• Prepare, review, and manage transportation, customs, insurance, and other related shipping documentation.
• Support the financial administration of shipments, including document verification, invoicing, and shipment closure.
• Resolve operational issues, shipment disruptions, exceptions, and claims in a timely and professional manner.

What do we expect

• Minimum 2 years of experience in air freight operations, freight forwarding, airlines, GSA/GSSA organizations, or handling agents.
• Strong knowledge of the Kazakhstan air freight market and practical experience working with airlines, agents, airports, and other logistics service providers.
• Good understanding of international air cargo regulations and industry standards, including Incoterms and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
• Solid knowledge of air freight pricing principles, chargeable weight calculations, and freight rate structures.
• Experience in organizing and coordinating international air freight and multimodal transportation services.
• Understanding of customs clearance procedures and international shipping processes.
• Proficiency in preparing and handling transportation and shipping documentation, including AWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, and related documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with TMS, 1C, or other logistics management systems is an advantage.
• Fluency in Russian and English, with the ability to conduct business correspondence and negotiations in both languages.
• Strong sense of responsibility, proactive approach, ability to manage multiple priorities, and effective communication skills when interacting with customers and business partners.
