Industrial Hygienist

Responsibilities

• Organize and implement the Production Control Program (PCP) in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and company requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor activities related to occupational hygiene, industrial sanitation, and occupational health and safety.
• Conduct regular sanitary and hygiene inspections of construction sites, accommodation facilities, camp facilities, kitchens, catering areas, laundries, water supply systems, and other site infrastructure.
• Monitor the sanitary condition of accommodation and welfare facilities, including housekeeping, personal hygiene, waste management, and general cleanliness.
• Organize and coordinate laboratory testing and instrumental measurements, including microclimate assessments and other workplace environmental parameters.
• Coordinate with accredited laboratories regarding sampling, testing, laboratory schedules, results analysis, and documentation.
• Monitor drinking water quality, food storage conditions, catering operations, and compliance with applicable sanitary requirements.
• Ensure implementation of HACCP principles and sanitary requirements within catering and food-handling facilities.
• Coordinate and monitor disinfection, disinsection, and deratization (DDD) activities.
• Coordinate contractors and service providers involved in sanitation, hygiene, water supply, catering, and sanitary treatment activities.
• Conduct inspections and audits, identify non-conformities, and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, sanitary instructions, corrective action plans, and other relevant documentation.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on occupational hygiene, sanitation, and production control activities.
• Monitor the effectiveness and timely completion of corrective and preventive actions resulting from inspections and laboratory testing.
• Liaise with sanitary and epidemiological authorities in Kazakhstan and provide support during internal and external inspections.
• Participate in investigations of sanitary and hygiene-related incidents and develop preventive measures.
• Provide consultations, briefings, and awareness sessions to employees and contractors on occupational hygiene, personal hygiene, and sanitary requirements.
• Maintain and regularly update documentation related to occupational hygiene, industrial sanitation, and the Production Control Program.
• Prepare presentations, analytical reports, and other materials using MS Office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Hygiene, Industrial Hygiene, Sanitation, Occupational Health and Safety, Medicine, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience as an Industrial Hygienist, preferably within construction, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
• Good knowledge of sanitary regulations, occupational hygiene, occupational health and safety, and industrial safety requirements applicable in Kazakhstan.
• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing a Production Control Program (PCP).
• Experience working with accredited laboratories and coordinating laboratory testing and measurements.
• Good knowledge of HACCP principles and sanitary requirements for catering and food-handling facilities.
• Practical experience conducting sanitary inspections of accommodation facilities, kitchens, catering facilities, laundries, water supply systems, and rotational/shift camps.
• Experience conducting microclimate assessments and laboratory/instrumental measurements of workplace environmental factors.
• Experience monitoring drinking water quality, food storage conditions, catering facilities, and sanitary conditions of accommodation facilities.
• Experience coordinating contractors and specialized service providers for disinfection, disinsection, and deratization activities.
• Strong experience in preparing inspection reports, checklists, sanitary instructions, and monthly/quarterly reports.
• Experience interacting with sanitary and epidemiological authorities and supporting internal and external inspections.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Fluent English is mandatory, with the ability to communicate effectively, prepare reports, and conduct professional correspondence in English.
• Chinese language skills will be an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to work in field conditions, including construction sites and rotational/remote camps.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work.
• Ability to effectively coordinate contractors, laboratories, service providers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a project environment.
