For our branch in Atyrau we are looking for Piping and Utilities Engineer

Main Tasks

• Provide the KDI with clear design inputs, requirements and technical instructions based on project specifications, applicable Kazakhstan requirements and agreed project decisions.
• Review P&IDs, utility balances, line lists, piping classes, valve specifications, layouts, underground network profiles, isometrics, supports and BOQ/BOM. Check consistency between calculations, drawings, models and vendor requirements.
• Check materials, pressure ratings, hydraulics, drainage slopes, insulation, corrosion/freeze protection and welding/NDE requirements. Review water-based fire protection layouts and hydraulic calculations; identify needs for specialist fire protection or stress review.
• Issue substantiated review comments, resolve KDI queries and prepare responses to Owner comments. Check corrections in revised documents and track outstanding deliverables and technical actions.
• Coordinate interfaces with equipment, external utilities and other disciplines, including tie-in conditions, heat-supply boundaries, underground crossings and penetrations. Ensure agreed requirements are incorporated into KDI documents.
• Prepare or update selected piping/utility specifications, datasheets and material requisitions when assigned by the Engineering Manager. Support technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
• Resolve construction technical queries (TQs), discrepancies and proposed substitutions with the KDI and site team. Obtain required design approvals and ensure affected documents are updated.
• Support technical review of pressure testing, flushing and system acceptance. Verify technical punch closure, as-built drawings, test records, material certificates and applicable pipeline passports.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Water Supply and Sewerage, Civil Utilities or a related discipline.
• Experience designing or technically reviewing industrial piping or utility networks, with independent responsibility for an assigned scope and practical work with designers.
• Ability to check piping drawings, material selection, hydraulics and supports; practical knowledge of utility piping and working knowledge of water supply, drainage, firewater and sprinkler systems (VK/NVK/PT/APT packages).
• Working knowledge of applicable Kazakhstan utility and fire protection requirements, relevant GOST standards and project-selected international piping codes.
• Ability to review and mark up drawings using AutoCAD or an equivalent viewer, and work with technical registers in Excel and Word.
