Director, Technical

Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee aircraft airworthiness, maintenance, repair, and modification processes in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ICAO standards, and aircraft manufacturer requirements.

Ensure the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of the aircraft fleet through effective maintenance planning, defect management, and airworthiness monitoring.

Oversee line and base maintenance activities, including C-checks, engine repairs, and maintenance of aircraft components.

Manage technical logistics, procurement coordination, spare parts supply chains, and warehouse operations to ensure the timely availability of materials and minimize aircraft downtime.

Develop and implement strategies to improve technical operations, optimize resources, and enhance operational efficiency through process automation, digitalization, and new technologies.

Manage technical budgets and ensure the efficient use of financial and material resources.

Lead, develop, and motivate technical teams, including airworthiness, maintenance, and logistics personnel.

Plan workforce requirements and support the recruitment, training, and development of local aviation engineering specialists.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with aviation authorities, aircraft manufacturers, maintenance organizations, suppliers, airports, and international partners.

Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, certification requirements, quality standards, and internal policies, while managing operational risks and internal controls.

Requirements:

Higher professional engineering degree in aviation or a related aviation-technical field.

At least 10 years of overall professional experience.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in aircraft airworthiness and/or aircraft maintenance within the civil aviation industry.

At least 5 years of management experience in aircraft airworthiness and/or maintenance within a civil aviation organization of comparable scale and complexity.

Proven experience in managing commercial aircraft fleet maintenance, developing technical policies and strategies, and implementing operational improvement projects.

Experience in supply chain management, logistics, and cooperation with aviation authorities, aircraft manufacturers, and international maintenance partners.

Strong knowledge of the aviation regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ICAO standards, aircraft maintenance requirements, and airworthiness management.

Excellent strategic planning, leadership, team management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
