Cyber Security Manager (Data Protection & DLP)

We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Manager (Data Protection & DLP) to join our IT Operations & Cyber Security team. This role is responsible for leading the organization’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data protection initiatives, ensuring the security, confidentiality, and integrity of critical information assets. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and continuously improving DLP controls and data protection practices, leveraging Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security solutions, while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage enterprise-wide Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data protection activities, including policy development and implementation using Microsoft Purview
- Oversee and enhance data classification and labeling frameworks across the organization
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve DLP alerts, incidents, and policy violations, ensuring timely response and compliance
- Review security logs, alerts, and access activities to detect suspicious behavior
- Administer access provisioning, approvals, recertification, and coordinate joiners, movers, and leavers (JML) processes
- Prepare and present regular reports on DLP, data protection, and compliance to management and stakeholders
- Respond to service desk tickets, incidents, changes, and security-related inquiries
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and protection of sensitive and business-critical information assets
- Develop, review, and maintain information security policies, procedures, standards, and participate in audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
- Manage supplier interactions, procurement processes, budgeting inputs, and coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams on security initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT and information security, preferably in DLP and data protection
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security solutions
- Strong knowledge of data classification & labeling, data lifecycle management, and DLP technologies & controls
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, GDPR, and other information security frameworks
- Experience in developing policies, procedures, and management reports
- Preferred certifications: Security+, CEH, Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), or equivalent; additional training in cybersecurity, networks, or programming is an advantage
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with strong organizational and follow-through abilities
- Fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerPoint) and a high level of responsibility, integrity, and results orientation
